Getting familiar with Iran & Isfahan


Islamic Republic of Iran with an area of 1648000 Km2 and 70 million population is located in the Middle East, Asia.Its neighbors are Turkey, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and from Southern part extends to Persian Gulf.

Economy of Iran is divided into three parts: Governmental, Cooperative, and Private. Major  industries and economical sections are: petrochemical industries , steel industries , auto industries, construction equipment and industry, foodstuff, textile, hand – woven carpets, handicrafts, agricultural products , and technical and engineering services.

 

 

Isfahan is the second industrial city in Iran. Existence of 7000 industrial units and major  units like: Isfahan Steel Company , Isfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company, Isfahan Refinery , Isfahan Petrochemical Company, DMT, Iran Polyacril Corporation, Aerial Industries,  Sepahan Cement, etc. and the existence of 50  industrial zones with cover and over than 25000 hectares put this province in the list of industrial cities of Iran .Mineral products have great variety in Isfahan. Mains of them are rocks, gold, zinc, different kinds of sands, decorative stones , plaster, limestone, etc.

This province is considered as one of the exporters of mineral materials. Isfahan is also the center of production of handicrafts. There are 150 branches in this field that Isfahan is active in 50 ones.

Isfahan is one of the most beautiful and important cities with various historical monuments which have made Isfahan to be one of the tourist attraction center in Iran. This is one of the oldest cities which its antiquity goes back to 2500 years ago. This fact has caused many historical sights such as Naghsh-e-Jahan Square, Khajoo pol (Bridge), Si-O-Se pol (Bridge), Chahar Bagh St., Chehel Sotoon Kakh (Palace), Hasht Behesht KaKh (Palace) to appear in this city.
